About the Competition
The 3rd Shri O.P. Tandon Memorial Mock Trial Competition aims to expose participants to realistic criminal trial proceedings based on contemporary legal and forensic issues. The event focuses on developing advocacy, witness examination, legal drafting, memorial writing, analytical reasoning, courtroom etiquette, litigation strategy, and the practical application of criminal law.
By participating, students gain hands-on experience that prepares them for future careers in litigation and legal practice.
Eligibility Criteria
The competition is open to students enrolled in either a three-year LL.B. programme or a five-year integrated LL.B. programme.
Each institution may send a maximum of two teams, although only one team from an institution can qualify for the semi-final stage.
A team may consist of up to five members, including:
Two Speakers/Counsels
One Researcher
Two Witnesses
Teams with four members are also permitted, in which case the researcher may additionally perform the role of one witness.
Registration Fee
The standard registration fee is ₹3,000 per team. An early bird registration fee of ₹2,500 is available for teams registering on or before July 12, 2026.
